WCGC was pre-qualified to provide a proposal for the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) CP4 Design-Build Project. Proposals from pre-qualified design-build entities will be due in March 2013. The estimated $100 Million Design-Build Contract is anticipated to be awarded in April 2013.

WCGC/HMS JV worked through rainy conditions, over the weekend of 12/14/2012 to 12/16/2012, to complete the Cut-Over of the MTS Blue Line milestone D signal system (National City into Chula Vista)

The successful Cut-Over was the second of five to be done over the next few months, and gives MTS the ability to Single Track their trolleys from Chula Vista to downtown San Diego.

The Downtown San Diego Quiet Zone has officially been implemented by the FRA and local railroad agencies.

WCGC/HMS JV completed the “Cut-over” of the new signals and rail crossovers in Milestone E of the Blue Line Crossovers and Signals project. The Cut-Over was the culmination of 18 months of design and construction, and was successful due to the JV and CM (SANDAG and MTS) team efforts.

West Coast General Corporation completed final punchlist work for the Downtown San Diego Quiet Zone on 11/3/12 and the owner has issued the required 21 day notification to the railroad agencies before the Quiet Zone can be implemented.
